DIY Sand Play Dough
Spring is here! With the warmer temps and our new collection "You, Me, and The Sea" launching, we've had the ocean on our minds! Sunny days hanging on the beach, swimming, and building sand castles. This DIY is almost as good as a beach day! This is such a fun activity for the kiddos and it's sure to keep them busy playing for quite a while! It's sensory heaven! : D
Tools:
1 large bowl
wooden spoon
water kettle or pot
measuring cup
tablespoon
Ingredients:
1 cup of all-purpose flour
1 cup of fine beach sand (you can grab some from the beach or order from Amazon, i used this brand. )
1/4 cup of salt
1 tablespoon of cream of tartar
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
1 tablespoon of glycerine
3/4 cup of boiling water
Mix all the dry ingredients together. Then add your vegetable oil and glycerine to the dry ingredients, mix well. Pour in the hot water and mix together with the wooden spoon. Let it cool for a bit. When its cool enough to touch, put onto a lightly floured surface and knead the dough. The kids love this part! After you give it a good knead let it cool off completely as this will give rid of any stickiness.
Now it's time to play!!
We used these shells to play with in the sand, so fun! We actually used these very same shells to create our Sea Shell Mormor pillow too! We photographed each shell individually and made our very own pattern for the pillow fabric! : )
